Vessel provider Miclyn Express Offshore (MEO) of Singapore and charterer Mermaid Maritime of Thailand have each marked “game-changing” events this week, with MEO saving about $23m on a potential $80m replacement value of a diving support vessel (DSV) from fallen Hallin Marine.
MEO has bought Hallin’s 80-metre Windermere (built 2010) and then chartered the DSV to Mermaid subsidiary PT Seascape Surveys Indonesia for five years at about $41,000 per day, with an option for five additional years.
