Well-placed sources in Dubai suggest that the club’s new offshoot will be located in Hamburg. While deputy chief executive Amir Mosadeghi would not confirm the intended location, he tells TradeWinds that a European office is necessary, as most reinsurers are based there.
“In general, our market is not within Europe but we have worked with selected European reinsurers. The office is to facilitate better contact with the European insurance markets,” he explained.
