The UK-based owner has emerged as the purchaser of the 2,556-teu Maersk Nottingham (built 2004) for around $12.5m, its 17th secondhand boxship buy this year. The vessel has been taken on charter by Maersk Line for 18 months at a little less than $9,000 per day, say brokers.

The deal takes the tally of ships purchased by Borealis and its US private-equity partner, KKR & Co, to 26 vessels, also including nine tankers.
