Embattled Transpetro president Sergio Machado is free to return to his post at the end of what he has described as a voluntary 31-day leave of absence unless incriminating information emerges in the interim.

That was the word this week from Petrobras president Maria das Gracas Foster, as cited by Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo.

As TradeWinds has reported, Machado took the leave to answer an inquiry from the Petrobras Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI).
