Sources say a 38,000-cbm ship scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2015 has been charterered to trader Trafigura for three years at $1m per month. Earlier this year, it was announced that two other Exmar midsize newbuildings had been fixed to Statoil of Norway for up to 10 years at a reported $800,000 per month.
Exmar has a total of 12 midsize ships on order at Hanjin Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard priced at $50m each.
