Singapore-based BW Group is close to ordering four 73,000-dwt products tankers at South Korea’s STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, with options attached for another six, according to sources.
BW is believed to have signed a letter of intent (LOI) involving delivery of the first long-range-one (LR1) quartet in 2016 and 2017.
The wide-beam ships, said to be costing around $46m each, will be of high specification.
