If the relative success and growth of the four Teekay companies in a time of famine for many shipping sectors is an indication, it is a model that has worked. Although the split has existed since the original Teekay Shipping stood alone, it now may make even more sense with the birth of “daughters” Teekay LNG Partners, Teekay Offshore Partners and Teekay Tankers.
