Initially, Celebration expected repairs to the Bahamas Celebration would take two weeks but the damage proved more extensive and the vessel is now expected to be out of service for several months.
While neither Costa nor Celebration have confirmed the existence of a charter, the Costa Celebration’s cruises scheduled until next April have been cancelled.
The ship recently sailed from a drydock in Marseille, France, and was expected to arrive in Freeport at the end of this week.
