Hiring, not firing, is the order of the day at LMB Bulk Chartering, the new dry cargo brokerage established by Maersk Broker and Lightship Chartering.
Claes Devantier, senior vice-president at Maersk Broker, says there are no plans to cut the 80-strong combined team resulting from the latest consolidation move in the European shipbroking market.
“It’s about how many more good people we have room for,” Devantier told TradeWinds in an interview after the joint venture was announced.
