Oslo boutique investment bank Arctic Securities is to take a permanent stride into the US in 2015 as it pushes ahead with plans to open an office in New York with up to 10 staff.

The expanding Norwegian independent brokerage is looking to capitalise on its specialist shipping and offshore skills to get closer to clients and investors.

Ivar Larsen, Arctic’s head of equities, told TradeWinds: “We’re looking to leverage our knowledge of those key Norwegian sectors — shipping, oil and offshore, and fish farming to provide even better finance and investment services through the new US operation.”
