Arrest warrants have been issued by the Guardia di Finanza against six suspects, including three navy officers and a manager from the Italian subsidiary of a Danish supplier, according to the police unit that acts as the Italian fraud squad.

Italian media speculates that the Danish company is OW Bunker group subsidiary OW Supply.

Some 11 million litres of marine diesel fuel were sold to the navy and supposedly delivered to the port of Augusta, Sicily, by the 4,900-dwt tanker Victory 1 (built 1968), the Guardia claims.
