US-based tanker operator Mjolner Shipping continues to expand its fleet, reportedly taking two more VLCCs on charter.
The 299,000-dwt Cosglory Lake and Nave Celeste (both built 2003) are said to have been taken for a year at $33,000 per day.
London broker Clarksons pegs the 12-month rate for a modern VLCC at $35,000 per day.
Mjolner, which is an affiliate of Core Petroleum, started out in 2012 with aframaxes and suezmaxes.
