Some sources say it went for $12m, 25% more than what Queensway paid for it in 2012. But another close to the deal tells TradeWinds that the price was below that and “in line with market rates”.
Queensway paid $9.6m for the tanker as Eagle Charlotte from AET. The ship was purchased to replace the 107,000-dwt tanker Vemabaltic (built 1986), which had been used as a mothership for the bunker supply operation of Gibraltar’s Vemaoil — a company in which Queensway boss Vassilios Terzis is a partner.
