The tanker was delivered to Shorelink last week and renamed Eliana.

The sale marks the first time that a Nigerian owner outside of offshore has opted for a brand-new ship.

Most previous purchases have involved vessels that were more than 10 years old.

Shorelink jumped into the tanker game last year when it acquired a much smaller vessel, the 5,000-dwt Limosa 2 (built 2007), from Ligerienne Marine of France.
