Aegean Bulk is locked in arbitration with STX Offshore & Shipbuilding over allegations of defects in four kamsarmax bulkers built by the South Korean yard group in a $214m order.
The Greek owner alleges that a series of problems were uncovered before delivery of the 80,400-dwt Intuition and Inception (both built 2011), and were then found in the sisterships Inspiration and Infinity (both built 2010) while they were already in operation.
