The Piraeus-based association, which celebrated its 75th anniversary this year, is particularly concerned at new regulations limiting the amount of sulphur in marine fuel.

“Association members need to adjust to a new era of environmental challenges, amid a deep freight market crisis and with a fleet that is already facing problems of ageing and competition,” said the 47-year-old, laying out his objectives for the next three years at a speech before the EENMA general assembly.
