New Shipping, the company Polemis established last year after splitting with his brother, Spyros, has bought the 106,500-dwt Navion Svenita (built 1997), according to sources.
TradeWinds reported last week that the ship had been sold by Teekay in an $8.5m transaction amid keen interest in the market as to its destination.
New Shipping executives were unavailable for comment when contacted by TradeWinds on Wednesday.
