Container carriers made only minimal improvements in their ability to stave off bankruptcy last year and remain in the distressed state that has left them at risk for the past eight years, the consultant writes in its 2015 Container Shipping Outlook.
The study estimates that the carriers’ average Altman Z-score, an indicator of financial distress, improved only slightly in 2014 compared with 2013 to 1.21.
