The much-discussed economic woes of Greece are, of course, no laughing matter, especially given the nation’s citizens have been suffering terribly for years. But at least one recent proposal to stop tax evasion does sound downright comical.

Early this month, in an effort to calm the nation’s creditors, the Greek government and its left-leaning prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, and finance minister, Yanis Varoufakis, sent a list of measures to Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who is head of the Eurogroup of eurozone finance ministers.
