Shipyards are due to submit their offers to France’s GDF Suez at the end of this month for one of the few pieces of LNG newbuilding business in the market.
Market sources say the pre-qualification process for up to four vessels has been completed and clarification meetings have been held “at a high level”.
Yards are now preparing commercial and technical specifications for the bids, which are due in next week.
