The French seismic giant says it will acquire data for 16,314 square kilometres (6,299 square miles) in a three-dimensional (3D) seismic survey on the Caribbean coast off Colombia.

The latest survey, which will be the largest marine seismic programme ever acquired in Colombia, follows CGG’s 5,500-square-kilometre survey for Anadarko off the country in 2013.

The work will employ two of Oslo-listed owner Eidesvik Offshore’s seismic vessels, the 106-metre Oceanic Sirius (built 2011) and Oceanic Vega (built 2010), each of which have 20 towing points for seismic streamers.
