Japan’s Orix Corp is splitting a half-billion-dollar order for 21 ships between four domestic yards.
Industry sources say Tsuneishi Shipbuilding, Oshima Shipbuilding, Imabari Shipbuilding and Onomichi Dockyard have been commissioned to build the handysize bulkers for the finance group.
The company awarded six ships of 38,000 dwt each to Tsuneishi, eight to Oshima, five to Onomichi and two to Imabari.
