A previously small Fuzhou-based owner of veteran bulkers has quietly amassed a larger and much younger fleet through a series of distressed asset purchases, including the mystery owners linked to failed Rongsheng Heavy Industries.
The past two acquisitions seem to be at both ends of the scale: an elderly capesize bought for just over scrap value and a young capesize with an owner in difficulties.
