Adam Polemis’s New Shipping has paid NYK Line $27.5m for the 279,000-dwt Takasuzu (built 2000). The Mitsubishi-built VLCC is due for special survey in May. New Shipping has five VLCCs in its trading fleet.
Maersk Tankers continues to build its fleet of modern medium-range (MR) products tankers and is now linked to the purchase of the Zacchello-owned, 50,000-dwt Giacinta (built 2010).
