Sources say the owner fetched a firm $8.4m for the Hyundai-built, 66,000-dwt Sporades (built 1993). No buyer for the long-range-one (LR1) tanker was mentioned.
“The ship has not been sold and is still with the company’s fleet,” a source at Eletson told TradeWinds.
VesselsValue.com says the tanker is worth $5.3m. In May 2013, Eletson sold a sistership, the Alkyonis (built 1993), for $5.8m.
