The Hyundai Samho-built, 166,000-dwt Ariadni (built 2009), which has been with Liquimar since it was new, went for about $56.5m, sources say.
In March, TradeWinds reported that Delta had ordered two suezmaxes at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for $66m each for delivery in 2016. But by early April sources suggested the deal had failed.
Of Delta’s 22 tankers trading, 14 are suezmaxes.
