Some coastal states are accommodating, while others are not.
Large containerships in distress would not only have to face the same problems as any other ship seeking a port of refuge. Their size alone would make finding a port capable of accommodating them even more difficult.
Even if a port is capable of accepting big ships, the vessel’s size would raise concerns from the authorities involved.
