The Sheriff of Singapore issued an arrest warrant for the 107,000-dwt Varada Lalima (built 1997). The vessel is unlikely to move until Varada One, which is controlled by ABG-owned Varada Marine of Singapore, settles the $1m still owing on a $2.1m repair bill issued in April 2013.
Chengxi claims that it has received no response to numerous reminders e-mailed to Varada Marine since it received its last payment in July last year.
