At the time, the 51,000-dwt Super Star and Harbour Star (both built 2008) were said to have gone to an unidentified Greek buyer for $23.5m each. But TradeWinds is told that the price was $24.5m.
Sources close to the company confirm the purchases but decline to comment on the reported price. Delivery is scheduled for October.
Horizon is the tanker arm of Greek owner Anthony Comninos, which has been a seller of ships in the past few years.
