The 174,100-cbm FSRU, which was ordered by the Gazprom subsidiary at Hyundai Heavy Industries, has been designed so that it can be moored off the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and supplied from visiting LNG carriers.

But it will also be able to ship in its own cargoes from Russia’s planned Baltic LNG production plant, if and when this is built, or tranship cargoes via ship-to-ship (STS) transfers into small LNG carriers for regional distribution or bunkering purposes.
