A major tanker order worth $500m announced by AET this week could more than double in size.

MISC Berhad-backed AET has penned the deal with just weeks to go before new regulations are enforced, saving itself upwards of $30m.

AET announced contracts for four aframaxes, two suezmaxes and a pair of products tankers on Wednesday in deals split between Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
