Energy and commodities trader Vitol has booked a pair of 158,000-dwt crude oil tankers at South Korea’s Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, with delivery scheduled for mid-2017.

Informed sources say the contract was signed two months ago but the deal was not reported.

It is not clear if Vitol has ordered the suezmaxes via its UK’s investment vehicle, Elandra.

Last month, Elandra was said to have penned two medium-range (MR) tankers, with two options, at Sungdong for delivery in 2017.
