Informed sources say the South Korean yard is seeking a buyer for the bulker after the Greek shipowner cancelled the contract. The 180,000-dwt ship, named Maria D, is the first of three newbuildings Marmaras booked in 2013 for a reported price of around $47m each.
A Sungdong official confirms the ship is being sold without giving details.
