Former Beluga Shipping managing director Niels Stolberg is finally to get his day in court some four-and-a-half years after his financial troubles began.

Prosecutors in Bremen have named 20 January as the date for the start of what promises to be a mammoth trial in which Stolberg is facing a lengthy list of charges for financial misconduct.

If convicted, Stolberg could face a multi-year prison sentence but the 54-year old seems to be relishing the opportunity to clear his name after years during which he has been levelled with allegations of fraud and embezzlement.
