Danish owner Torm is set to end a seven-year newbuilding drought with a contract for up to 10 products tankers at CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (CSSC OME).
The company is closing in on a deal for four firm 115,000-dwt products tankers at what was once its favoured Chinese shipyard, according to informed sources.
Delivery of the ships, which are expected to cost around $50m each, is likely to start in late 2017 and run into 2018.
