Statistics Norway, or the Statistisk sentralbyraa (SSB), estimates that oil companies’ investments in oil-and-gas extraction and pipelines for 2016 will be at NOK 171bn ($19.8bn), which is a 9.3% decrease from its previous estimate for the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

This drop comes from lower investments in exploration, fields already on stream and pipelines, while an increase is in the development of fields and in decommissioning and abandonment (see story this page).
