The two companies are no strangers. Tan Binh bought the Malaysian owner’s 28,500-dwt bulker Eco Vanguard (built 2001) in September for a price described as around $6.4m. The vessel has been renamed Tan Binh 135.
Even though the Eco Vanquish is slightly newer and larger than the Tan Binh 135, the lower price is explained by the continuing fall in bulker values.
