TradeWinds reported last week that the owner has booked two firm ships, with an option for two more. Finance director Sigve Stenersen says they are primarily replacement tonnage. Its oldest chemical tanker, the 13,700-dwt Stenstraum (built 2001), turns 15 years old in 2016.
The first newbuilding will arrive in early of 2018 at an assumed price of $30m. Stenersen will decide on the options next year.
