The period tanker market has seen a flurry of activity this week, not least in the VLCC segment where at least nine units have been fixed.
Although the most modern tankers secure the best rates, vintage units have also been in demand, including the 19-year-old, 300,000-dwt CS Development (built 1997), taken by an undisclosed charterer for 12 months at $38,000 per day, or $13.7m.
