The 3,800-teu Conceiver, Perceiver, Achiever and Believer (all built 2014) were fixed in December on a rare 24-month charter at rates starting at double today’s spot market.
The German line is paying $14,900 per day for the first 12 months and around $19,900 for the second year, say brokers.
The vessels have been on charter to Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), which took them for 10 months in a strong market last July at rates of around $17,800 per day, up from $15,500 when the deals were initially arranged in May 2014.
