Jungerhans Maritime Services has inked a deal worth up to $150m for up to eight 1,000-teu feeder containerships at Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard in China.

The German owner has signed for four firm units for delivery in the second half 2017, with options for a further four for handover through 2018.

It is the first containership order for Zhoushan Changhong, which is building the vessels in co-operation with the CIMC Marine Engineering Ship Design & Research Institute.
