The Kanasashi-built, 75,000-dwt Pan Uno (built 2001) is said to have made $3.5m — $1m above its scrap price. The ship, which is due for special survey in June, was bought as Pansofia in March 2007 for a full $47.5m from Magna Maritime of Greece.
A similar ship, Bottiglieri’s Hitachi-built, 75,000-dwt Orsolina Bottiglieri (built 2001), has also been sold to an undisclosed buyer for the same price.
