Petrobras pays good rate for Union Maritime ships

Petrobras has paid firm rates to hire two products tankers from Union Maritime of the UK.

It is understood to have fixed the 47,000-dwt Portman (built 1998) for three years at $17,600 per day — or $19m for the charter period.

Union Maritime bought the ship as Barents Sea from SCF Group (Sovcomflot) for $8.5m in July last year.
