A series of six modern 53,000-dwt bulkers managed by Hartmann Dry Cargo in Leer are said to have gone to a Greek purchaser in an en-bloc deal.
Sources pegged the price of the ships at between $3.5m and $4.2m each, valuing the overall transaction at around the $25m mark.
The vessels were ordered in 2006 for around $30m apiece at Zhejiang Shipbuilding, under the assumption that they would earn about $20,000 per day under three or five-year charters.
