You do not have to be paranoid to feel beleaguered in Greece today. A pervading sense of precariousness has gripped the land, fed by six years of acute economic crisis. Work, tax and pension rules are constantly challenged, reviewed and tinkered with, without an end or breakthrough in sight. As a common Greek proverb goes, people simply “don’t know what kind of day is dawning”.
