Two German shipyards recently acquired by Genting Group are to work together in building cruiseships for the Hong Kong-based cruise operator.
Genting announced this week that it had completed the acquisition of Nordic Yards in East Germany following its earlier takeover of Bremerhaven-based Lloyd Werft.
A new jointly managed company, Lloyd Werft Group, has been formed.
The first project for the yards is a soon-to-be-announced, 1,000-passenger ocean-going cruiseship for Genting, with delivery pencilled in for 2018 and 2019.
