Sources say the Tsuneishi-built, 73,000-dwt Ocean Spirit (built 1999) has gone for $3.1m, or $300,000 above its demolition value. The Greek owner bought the ship as Lucia Bulker from J Lauritzen of Denmark for $24m in March 2009.
Lou Kollakis-led Chartworld has a mixed fleet of more than 50 vessels. It is primarily a boxship owner with 22 units but is also listed with seven tankers and 12 bulkers.
