McDermott International has confirmed that one its ships working as a pipe-laying support vessel (PLSVs) in Brazil has been dropped early from the fleet of state-owned Petrobras.

McDermott president, chief executive David Dickson revealed the early cancellation in connection with the company’s earnings report, with the lost work sparking an impairment charge of $32m on the 140-metre flexible pipe-layer Agile (built 1978, rebuilt 1998).
