Shandong Shipping is preparing for new large investments under a plan that will see the three main branches of the company follow sharply divergent paths.
Its offshore division, which last year acquired John Fredriksen’s Northern Offshore, is soon expected to reveal a substantial newbuilding programme involving an experimental ship design. It is in talks with yards in China to build a series of vessels.
