American Maritime Officers (AMO) is locked in a court fight with APL and rival unions claiming rights to provide the labour force for the same US-flag containership.

AMO is seeking an injunction from US District Judge Edward Chen, of the US federal court in San Francisco, to force the liner operator to recognise its right to provide seafarers to the 1,080-teu boxship APL Guam (built 2001) after they were removed in February.
